Business & Legal Consultant

Thamar Harrigan is a Business and Legal Consultant with our firm.  She brings an extensive background in complex and civil litigation cases.  She has worked with both small- and medium-sized firms.  Her areas of expertise are vast, including a laser focus on discovery issues. 


Prior to law school, Ms. Harrigan worked as a Senior Legislative Assistant for the Florida House of Representatives. She then served as a Government Relations Consultant for Becker & Polikoff, where she successfully lobbied the Florida Legislature on behalf of more than 30 different clients. Her most notable accomplishment as a Florida lobbyist is her involvement with the passage of the Post-conviction DNA testing bill into law which aids in the liberation of innocent people who have been wrongfully incarcerated. 


Thamar Harrigan obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from The University of Florida.  She has always been an active member in school and in her community.  Even with her heavy workload, she finds time to work closely with members of the Haitian-American community in South Florida and organizes medical mission trips to Jean Rabel, Haiti. 


Ms. Harrigan received her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law (STU).  In law school she served as executive editor for the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review and executive vice president of STU’s mock trial team.  She was also an active member of the international moot court team. 
Ms. Harrigan studied with Seattle University School of Law at the Mandela Institute of Law at Witswatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa


Ms. Harrigan took courses towards an LL.M. in Shanghai, China at East China University of Political Science and Law. She obtained her Master of Laws in International Business from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Through NUS, Ms. Harrigan interned at the Singapore Supreme Court. 


Prior to joining The Montfort Law Firm, Thamar Harrigan was a Discovery Consultant at Podhurst Orseck in Miami, Florida. She was responsible for filing pleadings, discovery and summary documentation on complex commercial torts. Ms. Harrigan has the rare ability of being able to analyze cases with a multifaceted and interdisciplinary approach which makes her an invaluable member of Montfort Law and an exceptional advocate for her clients.
